The District of Tobique Valley is located in the Atlantic Standard Time zone, which is one hour later then the Eastern Standard Time. Plaster Rock also participates in daylight saving time.

Climate

Generally moderate, the climate varies from mild to hot in the summer and in winter from moderate to very cold. Average summer rain fall is 85mm (3.3″) per month. Average summer temperature is 23°C (73°F). Average winter temperature is -5°C (23°F).

Currency Exchange

Industry / Major Employers

The forest and agriculture industries are the largest employers in the area. Acadian Timber and the Plaster Rock Lumber Corporation are the largest companies. Many supporting industries, such as trucking, equipment and labor, are provided by local contractors. Potato farming is the largest sector in the agriculture industry. Other areas include grain, dairy and livestock. The Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments all have a presence as well.

Plaster Rock is home to DFMS, TVMHS within the NB Dept. of Education (public schools). A Private Christian School called TLA is also located in the District of Tobique Valley.
